Nancy has lived in Oakland for 16 years and has been photographing the area since she first vacationed at Deep Creek Lake in 1971. As a resident of Oakland and living near the summit of Backbone Mountain, Nancy has gotten to know virtually everything about the land and its neighbors, the flowers and their seasons, and the residents of every species - all through her photographs. Nancy's photographs everything from the changing of the seasons to the growth of the town, and of course the tourists favorite stops. Those of you that are local residents of Oakland have seen her photographs in Garrett County's The Republican newspaper, or may have gotten to know Nancy through activities in Oakland's Civic Club, or The Mountain Top Photograpy Club. Or, you may have seen her wielding her camera at the Festival of Trees (Garrett County), the the McHenry Highland Festival, the Little Yoch Music Festival or the annual Autumn Glory celebration. Whether you know Nancy or have seen her at work behind the viewfinder, you will find that her photographs capture the natural diversity that is Oakland Maryland. |
